This journalistic image was made in January, 1973 on the main street of a central Florida city. The vacant storefront campaign office had been closed since the previous elections. There were observers on the sidewalks, but they were silent. The only sound during this eerie event came from the footsteps of the KKK marchers. This is a limited edition. The size is approximate.

This road ran from the cotton plantations of north Florida and south Georgia down to the shipping towns on the St. Marks river south of Tallahassee, Florida. While most of the route has dissapeared or has been paved, this original section has endured for over a hundred years. The Cade's Cove area on the Tennessee side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is visited by thousands of people every month. One of the first stops is the 1820's John Oliver cabin, restored to its original design. This image was made in the early morning fog, before the site became too crowded to photograph. This image is an old church on the north side of Black Mountain, North Carolina. The building now has fresh siding, a new steeple, and the tree has been cut back. It does not look the same. This is a black & white photograph, produced in a sepia tone.
